Cranium Engineering Deploys C-Kore Units Again in Nigeria

C-Kore Systems recently completed another successful campaign with VAYCO Oil tools and their Nigerian partner Cranium Engineering for a major oil operator offshore Nigeria. The CKore tools were used to test the electrical integrity of the subsea assets. With their quick results, the C-Kore tools insured minimum interruptions to the field, reducing the vessel time on the operation while not requiring any additional personnel offshore.

Blue Robotics Introduces a New Brand and Line of Underwater Penetrators: WetLink and the WetLink Penetrator

Torrance based Blue Robotics announced their newest concept and product, the WetLink family of products and the WetLink Penetrator. The WetLink Penetrator (WLP) is Blue Robotics’ next-generation solution for low-cost, high pressure, high reliability sealing of electrical cables as they pass into enclosures or other devices. It’s rated to a depth of 950 meters (3,116 feet) and compared to subsea connectors or penetrators, the WLP is a fraction of the cost while offering validated reliability. The first size of the WLP product is available now for $12 each and compatible with 6.0-6.5mm cable diameters.

Rovco today announced the launch of a new hydrographic services division, “Rovco Survey Solutions”, building on its experience as a leader in asset integrity and ROV projects. The Edinburgh and Bristol-based UK company is now offering a range of hydrographic, geophysical and site survey services across the offshore sector. They are pledging an investment of £9.5m in the new division, to be spent over the next 24 months. Rovco will expand its survey team, which has already flexed to more than 45 people for recent key projects, by welcoming an additional 8 new survey staff members this month.

Ocean Drones Brave Hurricanes to Make Coastal Communities Safer

Saildrone is announcing a new mission to deploy five uncrewed surface vehicles (USVs) from the US Virgin Islands in August to gather key data throughout the 2021 Tropical Atlantic hurricane season. The USVs will be equipped with specially designed “hurricane wings” to enable them to operate in extreme conditions. Saildrones are the only USVs capable of collecting this data and are designed to withstand winds over 70 mph and waves over 10 feet, which occur during a hurricane weather system. The five saildrones will sail into the paths of hurricanes to provide valuable real-time observations for numerical hurricane prediction models and to collect new insights into how these large and destructive weather cells grow and intensify.

Kraken Robotics Inc., Canada’s Ocean Company™, is pleased to announce a second purchase order for 6000-meter rated AquaPix® MINSAS 120 sonars from Teledyne Gavia. While we cannot provide the specific amount of these orders to Kraken, they total between $1.75 and $2.0 million. Kraken expects to fulfill these orders in 2021.
