SeaCAT is a multi-drone solution combining a surface drone (USV - Unmanned Surface Vehicle), an underwater robot (ROV - Remotely Operated Vehicle) and an aerial drone (UAV - Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) for the inspection of structures from the foundations to the tip of the blades.

Cellula Robotics Ltd. NOAA and Partners to Explore of Historic Shipwrecks

Beginning May 15, the public can join NOAA scientists and partner researchers as they explore the shipwreck of the USS Monitor, natural reefs and the maritime cultural landscape off the North Carolina coast. The two week mission — titled “Valor in the Atlantic” — will use state-of-the-art, remotely-piloted submersibles and other technologies to explore notable sites surrounding America’s first National Marine Sanctuary.

Subsea 7 Awarded Contract Offshore Trinidad and Tobago

Subsea 7 today announced the award of a sizeable1 project by BP for the TOPR project located offshore Trinidad and Tobago, in water depths of up to 280 feet. The project covers the installation of a 96 kilometres 12-inch pipeline, associated shore approach and diver tie-in spools. Front end engineering and design (FEED) is underway and the EPCI2 scope is scheduled to begin this month.

TMC the metals company Inc., an explorer of the world’s largest estimated undeveloped source of critical battery metals, today announced the successful completion of initial deep-water trials of the polymetallic nodule collector vehicle in the Atlantic Ocean. Engineers successfully lowered the Allseas-designed collector vehicle to the seafloor at depths of 2,470 meters, marking the first time the vehicle had been subjected to ultra-deep-water temperatures and pressures. Engineers then subjected the vehicle to extensive testing of its various pumps and critical mobility functions, driving 1,018 meters across the seafloor.

iXblue recently completed the bathymetric survey of the Saint Nazaire offshore wind farm using its DriX Uncrewed Surface Vehicle (USV). Relying on 4G and satellite communication, the operation – located 20km off the West coast of France – was remotely conducted by the iXblue teams of surveyors from their Remote Control Center in La Ciotat, South-east of France.
