Naval Group to Produce an Autonomous Underwater Drone Demonstrator for the French Defence Procurement Agency (DGA)

On December 28, 2023, DGA awarded Naval Group a framework agreement for the design, production and testing of an Unmanned Combat Underwater Vehicle (UCUV) demonstrator. A first follow-on contract was also signed for the design and development of Naval Group’s Autonomous Decision-Making Process (ADMP) and secure autonomous navigation.

Solstad Offshore Expands Vessel Fleet with ROVs

Shipowner Solstad Offshore expands its fleet offering by equipping six more of the company’s subsea construction vessels with remotely operated vehicles (ROVs). In connection with the investment in new ROVs, Solstad Offshore has entered into a cooperation agreement with Omega Subsea, who will manage, operate and provide personnel to operate the ROV systems on board the vessels.
Fugro Expands Blue Essence® Fleet and Receives Highest Level of UK Coastguard Approval

Fugro has expanded its 12-metre Blue Essence® uncrewed surface vessel (USV) fleet with the addition of Fugro Vaquita. The latest Blue Essence® has earned Category 0 approval from the UK Maritime Coastguard Agency (MCA), the highest level of approval for autonomous vessels. It is now the largest USV to operate fully remotely, with unrestricted access, to support marine projects further offshore while enhancing safety and environmental performance.

UTEC, a Geo-services brand in Acteon’s Data and Robotics division, has been awarded a three-year contract by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) to provide subsea balance of plant operations and maintenance (O&M) services to the Butendiek offshore wind farm.
