Boskalis announces that it has been awarded an inter-array cable installation contract by Ørsted for the German Borkum Riffgrund 3 and Gode Wind 3 offshore wind farms. The contract includes the transport, installation and burial of a combined total of 106 inter-array cables.

DEME Offshore US LLC, the world’s leading offshore wind farm contractor, today announced that it has secured a +$1.1 Billion Balance of Plant (BoP) contract for the construction of the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project in a Consortium with Prysmian. The contract, with a total value amounting to +$1.9 Billion, has been awarded by Dominion Energy Virginia, a subsidiary of Dominion Energy Inc., to a consortium made up of DEME Group and Prysmian.

Subsea 7 Confirms Contract Offshore Turkey in the Black Sea

Subsea 7 today confirmed the award of a major contract by Turkish Petroleum for the Sakarya field development offshore Turkey in the Black Sea. The award was announced on a redacted basis on 29 September 2021 and the contract was recorded in the backlog of Subsea and Conventional in the third quarter.

Offshore wind: New Ocean Grid project in the North Sea

The Norwegian Minister of Trade and Industry, Iselin Nybø, announced today that the Ocean Grid project will get financial support of 82.7 million NOK, through the Green Platform scheme. The project will develop new technology, knowledge and solutions to enable a profitable development of offshore wind on the Norwegian continental shelf. It will look particularly at the way offshore wind will be connected to the grid. The work will touch on both bottom-fixed and floating wind farms, and will in the long term enable the creation of green jobs and increased export revenues.

Saipem Strengthens its Fleet with the Bareboat Charter of a Latest Generation Drillship

Saipem signed a bareboat charter contract with the Samsung Heavy Industries Company yards for a new drillship, the Samsung Santorini which will be delivered in November 2021. The bareboat charter of about two years duration allows Saipem to strengthen the competitiveness of its fleet without investing in new assets, but by leveraging its consolidated expertise in the selection and management of technologically advanced vessels. The contract with Samsung still provides for the option to purchase the ship, which can be exercised at the discretion of Saipem depending on the trend of demand.
