The MTS/IEEE OCEANS'16 Conference in Shanghai

The MTS/IEEE OCEANS'16 Conference was recently held in April 2016 in Shanghai, China.

During the conference, there was a student poster competition and the following awards were presented by: Dr. Philippe Courmontagne, the IEEE/OES Student Poster Competition (SPC) Chair, for third place to Jungwook Han, of Korea. Dr. Andrew Clark, the MTS Vice President for Industry and Technology, for third place to Jonghyun Ahn, of Japan.Dr. Rene Garello, the IEEE OES President, for first place (the “Norman Miller Prize”), to Redouane Lguensat, of France for his poster entitled “Using Archived Datasets for Missing Data Interpolation in Ocean Remote Sensing Observation Series.

In addition, for this contest, three special prizes:
The OCEANS’16 Shanghai” prizes, were presented and consisted of two special third place prizes, which were presented by Ye Li, the local SPC Chair, to Oriol Pallares, of Spain and to Yali Wang, of Newfoundland, Canada. One special second place prize, which was presented by Wen Xu, the OCEANS’16 Technical Program Chair, to Jolé Melo, of Portugal.
