L3Harris, along with industry partners, developed and integrated a homing and docking solution that enabled launch and recovery of an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) from an underway submarine, referred to as Torpedo Tube Launch and Recovery (TTL&R). Today, L3Harris is the first company to accomplish a fully autonomous launch and recovery of an AUV from an underway submarine, leveraging its proven Iver4 AUV technology. Kraken Completes Submarine Power Cable Survey with KATFISH Towed Sonar

Kraken Robotics announces completion of the offshore portion of a Robotics as a Service (RaaS) contract for the marine inspection of critical underwater infrastructure, including a submarine power cable. The contract value is $0.5 million. Kraken completed the offshore survey in challenging sea state conditions, including up to 4 kts of cross current, by using the KATFISH™ high-speed towed synthetic aperture sonar (SAS) system coupled with Kraken’s Automated Launch and Recovery System (ALARS).

Saab Receives U.S. Navy Contract for Anti-Submarine Warfare Training Target

Saab will conduct a modernization update to meet the customer’s requirements and qualify the product through first article validation testing. Following successful validation, the customer anticipates a 10-year production period. The contract has a potential value of USD $173.2 million (SEK 1.73 billion) over a 10-year ordering period for deliveries through 2032. The initial order value to Saab is USD 5.8 million and was booked in Q3 2022. In order to support this, Saab, Inc. is setting up a facility in Cranston, Rhode Island where Saab’s Autonomous and Undersea Systems Division is based.
