XOCEAN is an ocean data company – we collect data for clients ranging from mapping the seabed to monitoring the environment. However, we do this differently, instead of using conventional crewed survey ships, we have developed a marine robotic system known as an Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV).
Requirements & Summary

Responsible for the logistics, installation, configuration, testing and report writing of all new USV mission systems, in the workshop, during testing and on site.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include:
▪ Supporting XOCEAN in developing and fitting of new USV mission systems.
▪ Arranging for systems to be supplied.
▪ Installing and configuring new mission systems.
▪ Short- & long-term testing of the sensors and their components.
▪ Correct and safe demobilising and packing of mission systems.
▪ Writing SOPs and test reports for the new systems.
▪ Training survey team members on operation of new systems.
▪ Assisting with installation of survey sensors onto operational USVs when free from R&D.
▪ General USV Maintenance to support company requirements.

Requirements: Essential Skills / Attributes and Experience
▪ BEng in Engineering, Physics, Hydrographic Survey or relevant scientific field.
▪ 5 years’ experience in geophysical survey sensors.
▪ In-depth knowledge of survey IT and networking.
▪ Practical ability and safe use of electrical tools.
▪ Enthusiastic, flexible and proactive nature with a keen attention to detail.

Desirable Experience
▪ Experience with R2Sonic, Norbit, Innomar, POSMV, Edgetech, ScanFish, AUV or magnetometer systems would be an
advantage
▪ Experience of marine survey data online software (e.g. QINSy) is an advantage.
