Bibby Offshore shares costs efficiency solutions and highlights best internal working methods to help ensure safe future for industry.

Oil and gas companies in the UK will be privy to some of the inner workings and processes of a leading global subsea installation contractor during a two-way session being held in Aberdeen next week (14th January).

Those attending the lunch and learn event at Village Hotel Club Aberdeen, Prime 4, in Kingswells, will hear from Bibby Offshore on how best to conduct business with the firm, as well as take part in discussions about adding value to projects and sharing ideas on cost efficiency in the supply chain.

Speaking at the event, John Black, supply chain manager, from Bibby Offshore will also look at how the industry can take a smarter approach towards developing pioneering solutions by working in collaboration to share information and best practice to meet customer needs.

Organised by Subsea UK, the three-hour session will be hosted by the industry body’s chief executive, Neil Gordon.

He said: “Last year saw operators tightening their belts and re-evaluating their working practices both internally and with their contractor companies. This led to reduced personnel numbers and some projects completely grinding to a halt.

“But we also witnessed firms in the supply chain rising to the challenge of becoming more flexible and innovative while still ensuring a high level of support is being delivered so that campaigns are executed safely and efficiently.

“With a track record in innovation, the subsea sector has the potential to demonstrate the most pioneering solutions and collaboration is the key to unlocking that potential. We are running a number of similar Subsea UK events throughout January for companies to learn from one another and encourage a joined up approach across the subsea community as we continue to face one of the most difficult periods ever in the North Sea.”

Speaking on behalf of Bibby Offshore, John Black said: “At Bibby Offshore we are committed to consistently improving our overall service offering. In order to achieve this, we have to ensure that we fully engage with our supply chain. Subsea UK carry out a very important role in the industry; especially in such trying times, so we’re delighted to support this initiative.”
