Expanding the reach and influence of the conference sessions, Oi’s new strategic media collaborations will pair some of the ocean technology industry’s key titles with the relevant technical track at next year’s event at London’s ExCeL in March.

Aberdeen-based Ocean Robotics Planet Magazine, described as the most focused publication on Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (ROV, AUV, USV) in the subsea construction, defence, science, offshore oil & gas, and offshore renewable industries, is named as the official media supporter for the Oi26 Uncrewed Vehicles and Vessels conference sessions.

Highlighting developments and applications in marine autonomous systems, the dedicated sessions will be moderated by Dan Hook, a founding investor and CEO of RAD Propulsion Ltd and Trustee of the National Oceanography Centre, and Richard Mills, CCO of Cellula Robotics Ltd.

The dedicated media support for the conference track will augment Oi’s mission to share and discuss the latest innovations and knowledge influencing the trajectory of technology in the sector with the industry’s wider global community. Under the terms of the collaboration, Ocean Robotics Planet will interview the moderators, the session sponsor and three panellists, providing enhanced insight and content for marine technology professionals.

With over 150 submissions received from across the world in the recent industry Call for Content, the full three-day conference programme at Oi26 will reflect the latest topics impacting future ocean technology and economic needs, encompassing a range of content aimed at improving strategies for exploring, protecting and sustainably operating in the world’s oceans and waterways.

In line with the new COAST focus launching at Oi26, next year’s conference will expand to include dedicated sessions showcasing the critical coastal and shallow water sectors, highlighting breakthrough developments in coastal protection, erosion control, sediment transport analysis, shoreline stabilisation, and climate adaptation that support sustainable coastal development and ecosystem protection.

Richie Enzmann, Editor-in-Chief, Ocean Robotics Planet, said: “Ocean Robotics Planet is delighted to be the first media supporter of a conference track at Oceanology International. We look forward to working alongside the Oi delivery team to bring a new dimension to the conference and to help enhance Oi’s value for the ocean technology community and engage even wider audiences.

“Oi is recognised across the world as the leading event for the subsea and oceanography sector, attracting ocean professionals from science, technology, academia and government. As the media supporter for the Uncrewed Vehicles and Vessels technical sessions, we plan to bring stories from the moderators, Richard Mills and Dan Hook, and get their unique perspectives on the autonomous market. We will also talk to the panellists to reveal the inside story of their presentations.”

Mike Enser, Marketing Manager of Oceanology International, said: “Although we have worked closely with Ocean Planet Robotics for several years, we are pleased to involve this key title in a more strategic capacity. The strengthened partnership adds significant value in raising the profile of the topics and developments at the top of the agenda in the field of Uncrewed Vehicles and Vessels, supporting the community with distinctive content which facilitates understanding of the challenges and solutions.”

Dan Hook, Oi26 session moderator and CEO of RAD, added: “I am pleased to be one of the moderators and session chairs for the Uncrewed Vehicles theme at Oceanology International 2026 – a world-leading event for the ocean innovation and technology community. I am looking forward to a deep dive into an area that is seeing exponential growth and innovation that affects so many projects, from oil & gas, to renewables, to defence, ocean observation and safety.”

Richard Mills, Oi26 session moderator and CCO of Cellular Robotics, said: “Oi is one of, if not, the biggest and most important shows on our calendar. We meet friends, colleagues, customers and partners old and new at the event and get to share the latest ideas and learn about emerging technology. That is the reason I am delighted to moderate the uncrewed platform sessions, and I look forward to learning about new capabilities in an area where the operational demands are ever increasing.”

Oceanology International returns to London’s ExCeL from 10th to 12th March 2026, uniting more than 8,000 attendees and 500 exhibitors from across the globe. This year, the event expands its horizons with the debut of COAST, building on Oi’s commitment to connect the entire ocean and coastal community.
