TSC Subsea Deploys ORCA for In-service Hull Inspection

TSC Subsea has confirmed the commercial availability of its in-service hull inspection capability, delivered using its ORCA robotic crawler. The company delivers in-service hull inspections and condition surveys using its deck-launched ORCA, providing accurate condition assessments above and below the waterline while vessels remain in service. This approach eliminates the need for dry-docking and minimises operational disruption. Deployment directly from the deck removes the need for divers, ROVs, or dedicated support vessels, improving safety while reducing inspection cost and complexity.

Lisa Franchetti toured Boeing’s Orca Extra Large Unmanned Undersea Vehicle (XLUUV) manufacturing facility, met with Boeing contractors and Sailors assigned to Unmanned Undersea Vehicles Squadron (UUVRON) 3, and gave remarks about the importance of having robotic multi-mission submersibles in the fleet, Dec 6.

Boeing Delivers First Orca Extra Large Uncrewed Undersea Vehicle to U.S. Navy

Boeing has delivered the first Orca Extra Large Uncrewed Undersea Vehicle (XLUUV) to the U.S Navy following acceptance testing completion this month. The XLUUV, designated by the Navy as “Orca,” is a new class of autonomous submarine that can perform long duration critical missions to achieve undersea maritime dominance in changing environments and contested waters.

Now, one year on, Atlas Professionals completed the acquisition of a 100% interest in Subserv Pro Ltd (SSP) and ORCA Offshore Ltd (ORCA). This acquisition will add further scope and options for both of Atlas’ clients and personnel. Based in Banbury, the office will expand Atlas’ UK network, bringing together two of the strongest agencies in the niche markets of ROV, Diving, Inspection and Renewable Energy. April 2015 will see Imenco bring its latest camera platform, the SubVIS Orca, to market.

This will feature HD over Ethernet compatibility. Imenco’s new HD over Ethernet subsea camera, the SubVIS Orca, will launch globally on Tuesday 07 April 2015. Essentially a smart phone with a commercial subsea lens and housing rated to 4000 meters, the camera will be Apps driven and will be capable of communication with all sensors installed on Remote Operated Vehicles (ROV).
