Kystdesign Secures Landmark Contract with a New International Client

Kystdesign is thrilled to announce its largest contract to date with a new international client, undisclosed for the time being. U.S. Navy Awards Contract for Deployment of Future Mine Countermeasures Capabilities

The U.S. Navy has recently awarded a series of contracts, under Program Executive Office, Unmanned and Small Combatants (PEO USC), to facilitate Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Mine Countermeasures (MCM) Mission Package (MP) deployments. The MCM Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) is an unmanned, diesel-powered surface craft that can be launched from an LCS, vessel of opportunity, or shore. Its modular flexibility allows integration with multiple payload delivery systems that perform MCM missions, including minesweeping, mine hunting, and mine neutralization. By awarding these contracts, the Navy is ensuring it has the most advanced unmanned systems to effectively conduct mine countermeasure missions in the littorals.

NATO TASK FORCE X: Deterring Today and Protecting Tomorrow

NATO faces an evolving maritime security environment characterized by increased Russian aggression, including threats to critical undersea infrastructure. The threat has been underscored by the recent damage to undersea cables in the Baltic connecting NATO Allies. To counter these threats and deter any future attempts by state or non-state actors, Allied Command Transformation has worked with Allied Command Operations and NATO Headquarters to establish TASK FORCE X, a specialized initiative focused on delivering capabilities that exploit emerging and disruptive technologies, including autonomous systems and artificial intelligence into maritime operations in order to enhance the Alliance’s situational awareness of sea lines of communication and safeguard critical undersea infrastructure. The system will be tested in mid-February, 2025, as part of Baltic Sentry which aims to improve Allies’ ability to respond to destabilizing acts.

Kystdesign Signs Contract with New Client

Kystdesign is proud to announce the signing of a contract with the Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research (NIOZ) for the construction of the advanced Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV), the Supporter 6000. Building on a 25-year legacy of successful collaboration, Fugro has been awarded a new five-year contract by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for hydrographic survey services. Under this indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract, Fugro will support the creation and maintenance of highly accurate nautical charts, which ensure safe and efficient maritime navigation within U.S. waters. Projects can be assigned to any of the six companies holding an IDIQ contract based on NOAA’s ongoing priorities.
