Belgian Deep Tech Startup Completes ESA-Funded Feasibility Study to Advance Autonomous Drone Landing in GPS-Denied Environments

Agilica BV, a spin-out from the Royal Military Academy of Belgium, has successfully completed a European Space Agency (ESA)-funded feasibility study to develop a breakthrough Alternative PNT (Positioning, Navigation, Timing) system enabling precision drone navigation and landing in environments where GNSS signals are degraded or unavailable. This achievement represents a critical step on the commercialisation roadmap of Agilica’s core product — the AGL system — by adding built-in compatibility with GNSS and Galileo High Accuracy Service (HAS) to their Ultra-Wideband (UWB) positioning solution for drones in the maritime, logistics, and urban air mobility sectors.

Acteon Completes First Year of Balance of Plant Inspection Contract with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy

Acteon awarded O&M contract by Siemens Gamesa for Butendiek wind farm

UTEC, a Geo-services brand in Acteon’s Data and Robotics division, has been awarded a three-year contract by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) to provide subsea balance of plant operations and maintenance (O&M) services to the Butendiek offshore wind farm. Led by UTEC, the work will be supported with services from Acteon brands Clarus, Deepwater and Seatronics.

Portuguese Navy Hydrography Training with EQS Falcon

Training exercises aboard a Portuguese Navy hydrographic vessel have been completed by EQS (Environment Quality Services) using their Saab Seaeye Falcon robot. Teams from the Portuguese Hydrographic Institute and EQS undertook several exercises over three days on board the Portuguese Navy vessel Andrómeda, commanded by First Lieutenant Ribeiro de Carvalho, off the coast of Portugal.

The scope of work provides an example of Acteon’s ongoing partnership with Siemens Gamesa and its growing balance of plant subsea services, which cover turbine foundation ROV inspection and surveys of export and array cables, and the seabed around each turbine foundation.
