Marine Technology Summer Camp for Undergrads! Co-sponsored with MTS

The Marine Center at Northwestern Michigan College is partnering with the Marine Technology Society to offer an exciting opportunity for undergraduate students! Students will have a hands-on experience designed to offer student time on research vessels, data collection with ROVs, sonar, sensors,, and buoys while learning about the multiple applications of these technologies! No experience is required.

The Marine Technology Camp is designed to offer students a chance to not only learn about and use several technologies, but also deploy the equipment to gather data applied to various investigations. Students will explore the beautiful Grand Traverse Bay on the 56 ft. Northwestern and the 21 ft. Hawkowl. An example of activities include:

*Shipwreck investigations
*Geology/Glacial features investigations
*Ecosystem/habitat investigations
*Advanced Marine Electronics Laboratory
*Advanced Marine Hydraulics Laboratory
*And much more!

Students must register for the course by the end of April. The cost is $1600 which includes accommodations and local travel. Transportation to and from Traverse City is the responsibility of the applicant.
