Requirements & Summary

Responsibilities:

As deputy director and head of AI and Distributed Intelligent Systems projects, you will assist the CTO in bringing innovative multidisciplinary projects (hardware, software, AI) to a successful conclusion by supporting him with your expertise in the fields of AI, AIoT, and embedded systems with distributed intelligence architectures (EDGE, FOG and CLOUD).

Your main tasks will be as follows:
- Helping to draw up functional and technical specifications with customers
- Design and edit system and products architecture and specifications
- Identify and quantify the technical and scientific complexity of projects to assess the resources required
- Identify and assign R&D work to the various teams and partners
- Actively participate in the development or integration of all or part of the functionalities of projects
- Drive and monitor technological developments both in software and embedded system development
- Provide training and produce documents for skills transfer
- Publish and present work in high-level peer-reviewed scientific journals
- Identify technological and scientific obstacles and propose strategies for resolving them
- Manage operational engineering teams
- Identify the best tools for carrying out a project
- Monitor projects
- Validate and characterize the performance of the solutions delivered
- Participate in the deployment and integration of our products and solutions
- You may be required to carry out expert appraisal or consultancy assignments at our customers' sites in Norway and abroad, so you will need to be willing to accept these assignments for a maximum of 20% of your time.

Profile:
With an engineering degree in electronics or computer science as well as a PhD and postdoc in the field of AI you have worked in an international environment. You have a proven experience of managing R&D projects.

Skills:
- Mastery of the formalism, development tools (PiTorch, TensorFlow, Caffé, etc.) and deep learning architectures and methods classically used in AI (CNN, RCNN, RL, etc.).
- Mastery of Integration of AI based system and EDGE, FOG and CLOUD ecosystem using webservices (Cloud-based webservices architectures and computing, CUDA, GPUs, …)
- Mastery of Systemic and modeling tools and product development methodologies (SysML, UML, Agile …)
- Mastery of simulation and performance tools, methodologies and technologies (MATLAB, …)
- Expertise in high-performance embedded development tools and embedded platforms (DSPs, MCUs)
- Strong and proven knowledge in embedded systems and AIoT network and telecommunication protocols
- Good knowledge in electrical engineering and embedded system hardware design
- Good knowledge in data sciences and mathematics for signal processing
- Proven experience in development of IoT architectures and distributed intelligence architectures
- Notions of defense application and embedded systems designed and deployed in harsh environments
- Fluency in English (>C1)

Annual Salary: 800 000 – 1 100 000 NOK/year depending on experience
