ALSEAMAR Joins NATO Task Force X Baltic to Demonstrate SEAEXPLORER Glider Capabilities in the Baltic Sea
23.06.2025
ALSEAMAR is proud to announce its involvement in Task Force X Baltic (TFXB), currently deployed in the Baltic Sea. Coordinated by NATO's Allied Command Transformation (ACT), Task Force X Baltic aims to bring together a range of innovative uncrewed systems and assess their competitiveness in realistic operational environments.
As part of this mission, ALSEAMAR and the French Navy are deploying a fleet of five SEAEXPLORER gliders in the Baltic Sea, each equipped with a passive acoustic payload and the AURIS edge AI system. Developed by ALSEAMAR, the
AURIS technology is an acoustic onboard processing platform which enables real-time processing of data directly on the glider. Throughout the exercise, SEAEXPLORER gliders demonstrate their ability to manage acoustic monitoring of the underwater battlespace and transmit qualified data in near- real time to the control center.
Initial deployment phases have already confirmed several strengths of SEAEXPLORER gliders:
- Their interoperability within a system of systems, as they are deployed alongside other autonomous platforms such as USVs, UUVs and UAVs on the same theater of operations.
- The performance of the AURIS AI acoustic onboard processing platform, improving data filtering and the quality of information transmitted to the control center.
This participation highlights ALSEAMAR's commitment to advancing autonomous submarine capabilities through high- performance acoustic systems, whose capabilities are proven in an operational context.
